Federal Polytechnic Daura Graduates 399 Pioneer Students

Seventy-two of them will graduate with upper credit, 104 lower credit and 93 with pass.

The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Daura, Katsina State, Prof. Aliyu Mamman, has said the institution will graduate its 399 pioneer students during the maiden convocation billed for Saturday.

Briefing journalists Friday at the main campus of the polytechnic to mark the beginning of the convocation ceremony, Mamman said 39 graduands would be conferred with distinction.

He explained that 72 of the pioneer students will be graduating with upper credit, 104 lower credit, 93 pass, and the remaining ones are having spillovers and other related issues.

Mamman said: “Tomorrow (Saturday) we will be awarding National Diplomas to the pioneer set of our 399 graduating students across the 11 initial programmes of the Polytechnic as from 9 am at the take-off site.”

He added that the graduating students excelled in their academic pursuit would be awarded with various prizes, while some Nigerian leaders will be given an award of fellowship for their contributions to the institution.

He, however, said the polytechnic currently has 1,638 students running National Diploma programmes in 16 departments across the schools of engineering, science and technology and business and management sciences.

The rector further said a total of 112 students were undergoing the nine months National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) training at the school of vocational education, skill and professional development of the polytechnic.
