Afro-house singer Niniola has announced the death of her husband and manager, Michael Ndika, bringing public attention to a marriage she had kept private for years.
The singer shared the news through her Instagram stories, writing, “God took him… My husband died.” Ndika, widely known as Big Mike, had managed Niniola’s career for several years while also running music platform NaijaReview. The cause of his death was not disclosed.
Ndika and Niniola were married for 13 years, although the relationship was largely kept away from the public. The singer had denied being married during a radio interview in October 2025.
Their relationship reportedly began in 2013 after Niniola tried to contact producer Sarz following her appearance on Project Fame West Africa. Ndika, who was then managing the producer, later became her manager around the release of her debut single “Ibadi” in 2014.
Before joining the entertainment industry, Ndika worked in technology as a Systems Engineer and later Head of IT at Associated Haulages. He later founded NaijaReview in 2011, creating one of the early platforms focused on Afro-house and African music promotion in Nigeria.
Condolence messages have continued to pour in on Niniola’s social media pages following the announcement of his death.
