Results of investigations into the cause of military air accidents will remain a secret and only known to the Nigerian military, that’s according to retired Air Commodore Abayomi Balogun.

Mr Balogun, who appeared on ARISE News on Monday said until the military finds out the root causes of military air accidents, it will be kept a secret especially when a country like Nigeria is at war.

The retired Air Force officer said if such results of the investigations are made public, “the enemies will take advantage of them.”

His stance comes days after Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru, Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff died in a plane crash in Kaduna state.

He was visiting the northwestern state ahead of Saturday’s passing out parade of soldiers from the Nigerian Army depot, Zaria.
