Barcelona Break LaLiga Winless Streak With Dominant 7-1 Victory Over Valencia

Barcelona have secured a resounding 7-1 triumph against Valencia, ending their recent LaLiga winless run in spectacular fashion.

Barcelona ended their four-match winless run in LaLiga with a commanding 7-1 victory over Valencia on Sunday, highlighted by Fermin Lopez’s standout performance with two goals and two assists.

The win sees Barcelona remain third in the standings with 42 points, trailing second-placed Atletico Madrid by three points and leaders Real Madrid by seven. Valencia, fighting relegation, sit 19th with 16 points after suffering their first loss in five games across all competitions.

Frenkie de Jong opened the scoring just three minutes in with a well-placed shot into the bottom left corner, capitalising on Lamine Yamal’s precise cross. The Dutch midfielder continued his influential display by initiating Barcelona’s second goal, as his pass set up Alejandro Balde, who provided the assist for Ferran Torres to double the lead.

Raphinha extended the advantage before the 15th minute, seizing on a mistake by Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who was caught out of position. The Brazilian calmly slotted the ball into the empty net.

Lopez then took centre stage, adding Barcelona’s fourth with a clinical finish on 24 minutes and scoring the fifth before halftime with a stunning long-range strike.

“We were coming off a poor run in LaLiga and needed this win,” Lopez told DAZN. “Personally, I needed a game like this after dealing with injuries. It was important to regain confidence.”

Valencia managed a consolation goal through Hugo Duro early in the second half with a close-range effort, but Barcelona quickly reasserted their dominance.

Substitute Robert Lewandowski netted the sixth before an own goal by Cesar Tarrega completed the rout for Hansi Flick’s side.

The victory follows Barcelona’s thrilling 5-4 win over Benfica, which secured their spot in the Champions League’s last 16. They will face Atalanta in their final group-stage match on Wednesday.
