Osun Polls: Early Arrival Of Voting Materials At Ward 10, Unit 13, Egbedore LGA

Early voting materials arrive in Egbedore as police pledge full security for Osun poll

Voting materials arrived early this morning at Ward 10, Unit 13, in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State, ahead of today’s governorship election.

Election officials were on the ground to begin preparations at the polling unit as voters gathered for accreditation and voting. A similar scene played out at the INEC polling centre at the Open Space at Dele Yes Sir roundabout in Osogbo.

Amid the preparations, the Nigeria Police Force says it has ramped up security across the state.

Speaking on ARISE News’ News Night on Friday, Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedu, said air and ground surveillance had commenced.
“The police were created to protect life and property and to maintain law and order. Earlier today, the drone and helicopter team landed, and we have conducted extensive air surveillance and reconnaissance across Osogbo. We are very passionate about this election, as it is a test of our capability ahead of the 2027 elections,” he said.

He dismissed allegations of bias, adding: “The Police is partisan. Our only candidate for this election is peace.”

Security operatives have been deployed to flashpoints and polling units to ensure a peaceful election.
