Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) brought a police officer to Ede to disrupt voting during the state governorship election.
Adeleke made the allegation shortly after casting his vote at his polling unit.
He alleged that the officer, whom he identified by the nickname “London”, was brought to the area to cause violence and scare voters away from polling units.
“I have it on authority information that there is one police officer that they brought to come and do an actual job. The APC Osun from Portharcourt, they call his nickname London, is here in Ede hiding. His own job is to come and destroy Ede so that he can scare people, shooting, so that they will not vote,” Adeleke said.
He called on the Inspector-General of Police and other security agencies to take note of the allegation and ensure the officer does not disrupt the election in the state.
“I’m calling all the security agencies to take note. They should redeploy him. We don’t want him in Osun. We don’t want violence in Osun. All we want is free and fair election, so that people can perform their civic duty,” he said.
