The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has criticised former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, saying leadership requires courage, decisiveness, and the ability to confront difficult challenges rather than avoid them.
Wike made the remarks while reacting to perceptions about Obi’s leadership style, insisting that effective governance cannot be based on hesitation or avoidance of difficult decisions.
“In Nigeria, you must have the capacity to face challenges instead of running at the first sign of trouble. The worst kind of leader is someone who identifies a problem but cannot make decisions to solve it.”
He further described what he called a passive approach to governance as inadequate for a country facing complex socio-economic and political challenges.
