Air Peace Apologises For Recent Flight Disruptions, Reaffirms Commitment To Reliable Service

Air Peace has apologised for recent flight disruptions, attributing delays and cancellations to weather, technical issues, fuel availability and bird strikes.

Air Peace has apologised to passengers affected by recent flight delays and cancellations across some of its operations, attributing the disruptions to a combination of adverse weather, technical issues, a bird strike and aviation fuel availability.

In a statement signed by its Chief Operating Officer, Oluwatoyin Olajide, the airline acknowledged the frustration and inconvenience experienced by passengers whose travel plans were affected.

“The Management of Air Peace sincerely apologises to all passengers who have been affected by the delays and cancellations experienced across some of our operations in recent days. We understand the frustration and inconvenience these have caused and deeply regret the disruptions to your travel plans,” the airline said.

Air Peace said the disruptions resulted from several unforeseen circumstances, including an inadvertent false fire alarm that grounded one of its aircraft.

It said adverse weather also resulted in flight diversions, delays and, in some cases, outright cancellations, while a bird strike grounded another aircraft for several days.
The airline further cited technical issues requiring mandatory checks and maintenance, as well as delays in the availability of aviation fuel in some cases.

While acknowledging that some of the circumstances were beyond its immediate control, Air Peace said it recognised the impact on passengers and was working to minimise disruptions.

“Our focus is on managing these challenges responsibly, minimising disruption and ensuring that our passengers are not left to bear the consequences of operational challenges,” it said.

The airline stressed that it would not compromise safety in an attempt to maintain its flight schedules, saying aircraft would only be returned to service after technical teams and relevant safety procedures confirmed they were fit to fly.

“Air Peace will never compromise safety in an attempt to keep to a schedule. In Air Peace, safety remains our highest priority. We will NEVER compromise the safety of our passengers, crew and aircraft,” the statement said.

“An aircraft will not be released for service until our technical teams and all relevant safety procedures are satisfied that it is safe to fly.”
It added that where weather, technical conditions, bird strikes or other safety-related circumstances required an aircraft to remain grounded, safety considerations would take precedence over operational convenience.

Air Peace said it was taking immediate steps to stabilise its operations, strengthen contingency measures and improve communication and responsiveness when unforeseen challenges arise.
The airline reaffirmed its commitment to providing safe and dependable air travel while rebuilding the confidence of passengers affected by the recent disruptions.

“To every passenger who has been inconvenienced, kept waiting, had a journey disrupted or had to rearrange important plans because of these operational challenges, we sincerely apologise,” Olajide said.

“We deeply appreciate the patience and understanding of our passengers and the confidence they continue to place in Air Peace. We remain committed to giving you the quality, reliability and service experience you deserve.”
