Tinubu Visits Survivors of Yelewata Massacre, Meets Stakeholders on Benue Crisis

President Tinubu has visited injured victims of the Yelewata massacre, and met Benue stakeholders to address rising violence in rural communities.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday paid a solemn visit to victims of the recent mass killing in Yelewata community, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State

The President arrived at the Tactical Air Command, Nigerian Air Force Base in Makurdi at exactly 12:58 pm, before proceeding directly to the hospital where the wounded survivors are receiving treatment.

Tinubu was seen speaking with patients and hospital staff, offering words of comfort and pledging the federal government’s commitment to restoring peace in the region.

Following the hospital visit, President Tinubu headed to the new Banquet Hall of the Benue State Government House, where he held a closed-door meeting with top government officials, traditional rulers, security chiefs, and other critical stakeholders. The discussions focused on developing a sustainable strategy to curb the rising spate of attacks that have devastated rural communities across Benue State.

The President’s visit is part of a broader peace-building initiative aimed at ending the cycle of communal clashes, banditry, and reprisal killings that have plagued the Middle Belt region for years.
