Tinubu Still Evaluating Ministerial List

In accordance with Nigeria’s constitution, the President has until July 28 to submit his nominees.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his plans for Tuesday and Wednesday in an effort to evaluate and finalize his cabinet list.

In accordance with Nigeria’s constitution, the President has until July 28 to submit his nominees for cabinet positions to the Senate for consideration and confirmation.

According to The Cable, he won’t be seeing anyone for the next two days.

Although the majority of the nominations have been decided, several states still present a difficulty due to the candidates, reports say.

“The president is a chess player. He keeps most of his decisions to himself till last point,” a presidency official told The Cable.

One of the voids Tinubu is attempting to fill is the upcoming nomination of Abdullahi Ganduje, a former governor of Kano state, as the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ganduje had been listed as a minister, however the list had to be adjusted once Adamu Abdullahi’s chairmanship was forcibly terminated.

The president has faced criticism for the delay in forming his cabinet.
