Wike was overlooked in favour of Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, despite winning a vote by 14-3.

Despite being prodded more than once, Ortom refused to declare support for Atiku but rather advised that the candidate reach out to Wike for talks.

In an interview that covered several topics, Ortom again accused Nigeria’s federal government of complicity in the country’s insecurity.

He also accused the FG of blocking his access to loans to help pay salaries of civil servants in his state
