According to the former governor, President Buhari’s order to security operatives to shoot on sight anyone in possession of sophisticated weapons such as AK-47 will only be taken seriously when Nigerians begin to see them implemented.

Mr Fayose stated this on Thursday when he featured on a programme on ARISE News. He said this will not be the first time President Buhari has issued such an order to the country’s security forces and will be taken seriously when there are no counter instructions.

“Is the President just waking up to know that bandits carry weapons, AK-47? What do they operate with?”, the former governor queried.

“It is because of the noise about some people saying that herdsmen can move around with AK-47 to protect themselves. It’s daily becoming an embarrassment on government.

“I have counted 187 times that the president has said we will defeat bandits, we have defeated bandits, we have made improvements, we have heard it over and over.

“When we see the orders of the president being implemented and when we see there are no counter instructions, because its easy to say and say don’t act.

“These things happening in Nigeria has become this bad because of the insensitivity of the government in power. When the government says stop, it is the government. I have said it, you will not find armed robbers if the police don’t take bribes
