Nigeria Decides: PDP’s Umo Eno Wins Akwa Ibom Governorship Election

Eno won 29 out of the 31 local government areas in the state with a total of 356,348 votes to defeat Bassey Albert of the Young Progressives Party with 136,262 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate  of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Umo Eno, the winner of the Akwa Ibom governorship election.

Umo Eno was announced the winner on Sunday evening by Returning Officer of the state, Emmanuel Adigio.

Eno won 29 out of the 31 local government areas in the state with a total of  356,348 votes to defeat Bassey Albert of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), who came second with 136,262 votes.

Akan Udofia of the All Progressives Congress (APC) came third with 129,602 votes.

The number of rejected votes was 12,342, while total votes cast was 656,422.
