Mother Says Two Sons Killed In Separate Police Incidents In Delta

Mother of late Oghenemine Ogidi says she has lost two sons in separate police-related incidents in Delta State.

A woman in Delta State has said she lost two of her sons in separate incidents involving police officers.

She spoke during a condolence visit after the death of her son, Oghenemine Ogidi, a musician known as OG Millan. The visit was led by former aide to the Delta State Governor, Harrison Gwamnishu.

Harrison Gwamnishu said he met the mother during the visit and heard her account of both incidents. He said she told him that two of her sons had died in separate encounters involving police officers.

He said one of the sons was arrested from his home in 2022 and later killed. According to him, police said the man died during an exchange of gunfire, but that account has been questioned.

He added that Oghenemine Ogidi is the second son the family has lost under similar circumstances.

She also said one of the incidents involved Oghenemine. She added that another son died in 2022 in a separate case involving police officers.

“Two of my sons were killed by the police,” she said.

Police say an officer is in custody over the shooting of Oghenemine. They said the operation was based on intelligence about a suspect said to have a firearm.

The suspect was identified as Mene Ogidi. Police said a pistol and ammunition were recovered during the operation.

A video circulating online shows the victim restrained before the shooting.
