Miley Cyrus has announced her 10th studio album, Bass Persuades, alongside two rare performances at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl as she prepares to enter a new musical era.
The Grammy-winning singer announced the album on Instagram on Tuesday, September 1, revealing its black-and-white cover and September 18 release date.
The artwork shows Cyrus from the shoulders up with a rose held between her teeth.
“Music takes hold of us,” Cyrus wrote. “We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong.”
“Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between,” she continued. “That’s what the title means to me. Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album.”
Alongside the announcement, Cyrus released an edgy video showing her playing electric guitar in a white jumpsuit over a gritty, thrashing instrumental believed to be from the new project.
The album announcement was followed within minutes by news of her return to the Hollywood Bowl for two shows in October.
Cyrus, who has not toured in years and has largely avoided large-scale performances, will perform at the Los Angeles venue on October 16 and 18.
“It’s been a while,” she wrote, describing the Hollywood Bowl as her “favorite place to experience music and see [her]favorite artists.”
“I’ve sat in those seats many times, but I’ve never taken the stage,” she added. “LA is my heart and I’m bringing it home. See you there.”
Tickets will initially be available through an American Express presale on September 8 at 10 a.m. PT, followed by artist and Spotify presales. Remaining tickets will go on general sale from September 10.
Further ticket information is available through Ticketmaster and Cyrus’ official website.
Bass Persuades follows Cyrus’ 2025 album Something Beautiful, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
Before that, she released Endless Summer Vacation in 2023, which produced “Flowers”, the Grammy-winning hit that spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Cyrus had been teasing the new musical chapter for more than a week before the announcement.
The campaign began with a cryptic billboard, followed by a social media post simply reading “Miley.” Fans also noticed that she had changed her social media handle, removing “Cyrus” from her name.
The rollout came shortly after the death of Cyrus’ godmother, country music icon Dolly Parton.
Following Parton’s death, Cyrus paid tribute to the legendary singer, writing: “The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share.”
“I have an angel by my side. I always have,” she added.
With Bass Persuades arriving on September 18 and her Hollywood Bowl debut scheduled for October, Cyrus is set to begin a new chapter after years of limited live performances.
