Miley Cyrus has returned to the top of the Billboard 200 for the first time in more than a decade, with “Bass Persuades” debuting at No. 1.
The album earns 61,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the week ending September 24, according to Luminate.
It marks Cyrus’ sixth No. 1 album and her 16th top-10 project on the Billboard 200.
Her previous chart-topper was “Bangerz,”which reached No. 1 in October 2013.
“Bass Persuades” was announced on September 1 and released on September 18. Its title track, which served as the album’s lead single, was released on September 3.
The song debuted at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Cyrus her 24th top-40 hit.
The new album arrives just over a year after “Something Beautiful”, which debuted and peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 in June 2025.
Of “Bass Persuades’” 61,000 first-week units, album sales account for 47,000. The album also generates 14,000 streaming equivalent album units, representing 14.22 million on-demand official streams.
Track equivalent album units make up a negligible portion of the total.
The album’s first-week sales were supported by 16 vinyl editions, nine CD versions, six digital download editions and a cassette release. Several editions included bonus tracks.
Cyrus’ six Billboard 200 No. 1 albums and 16 top-10 projects include releases credited to both Miley and Miley Cyrus, as well as soundtrack albums associated with her Disney character, Hannah Montana.
Cyrus is also the third artist in 2026 to wait at least 10 years between Billboard 200 No. 1 albums.
Bruno Mars returned to the top in March with “The Romantic”, 13 years after “Unorthodox Jukebox” last reached No. 1 in 2013.
A$AP Rocky returned to No. 1 in January with “Don’t Be Dumb”, more than 10 years after “At.Long.Last.A$AP” topped the chart in June 2015.
Ella Langley Holds At No. 2-Ella Langley’s “Dandelion” remains at No. 2 with nearly 61,000 equivalent album units, up 1 per cent.
Riley Green earns his first Billboard 200 top 10 as “That’s Just Me” debuts at No. 3 with 60,000 equivalent album units.
The album records Green’s biggest week by units, with 29,000 from album sales, 30,000 from streaming and 1,000 from track equivalent album units.
Its sales were supported by 13 vinyl and CD editions, two digital versions and a cassette.
The album follows Green’s “Don’t Mind If I Do”, which debuted and peaked at No. 25 in 2024.
Morgan Wallen, Olivia Rodrigo Remain In Top Six-Morgan Wallen’s “I’m the Problem” holds at No. 4 with 58,000 units, up 1 per cent.
Olivia Rodrigo’s “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love” falls from No. 3 to No. 5 with 55,000 units, down 8 per cent.
Noah Kahan’s “The Great Divide” drops one place to No. 6 with 46,000 units.
Beabadoobee scores her first Billboard 200 top 10 with “Pylon”, which opens at No. 7 with 35,000 equivalent album units.
Album sales account for 25,000 units, while streaming contributes 10,000 units, representing 10.79 million on-demand official streams.
The remaining top 10 positions belong to Jhené Aiko’s “Westside Whimsy” at No. 8, Drake’s “ICEMAN” at No. 9 and Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season” at No. 10.
