Thirty senior police officers receive new ranks as IGP Disu calls for integrity, accountability and people-centred leadership.

Thirty senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force have formally assumed their new ranks after Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu decorated 13 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and 17 Commissioners of Police (CPs) during a ceremony at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.

The officers were decorated at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall following their recent promotion by the Police leadership. The ceremony brought together senior government officials, security chiefs, traditional rulers and political leaders to witness the formal elevation of the officers after years of service in the Force.

While congratulating the officers, Disu described their promotion as more than a career milestone, saying it places greater responsibility on them to provide effective leadership and uphold the values of the Nigeria Police Force.

He also acknowledged the support of their families, commending them for standing by the officers over the years.

Disu urged the officers to lead with integrity and humanity, stressing that commanders who prioritise the welfare of the personnel under them would earn their confidence and loyalty.
