Following the inquiry into the death of Lagos chef Peju Ugboma – whose family accused the medical centre that treated her of negligence – the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of Nigeria’s
Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, Babatunde Irukerat, was on ARISE NEWS on Friday to clarify the role and scope of the government agency.
This is against the backdrop of comments made by
the Chairman, Medical Jurisprudence Committee of the Nigerian Medical Association, Dr OIayinka Atilola, who on Thursday suggested – also on ARISE NEWS – that the FCCPC was overreaching by investigating Ugboma’s death.
