Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the setting up a of a N200 million (about $522,000) trust fund to compensate the families of the victims of police brutality in the state, which will be completely supervised by Civil Society Organisation (CSO) appointed by members of the public.

Sanwo-Olu disclosed this on Tuesday while addressing angry protesters at Alausa, Ikeja, as a follow-up to Mondays’ promise to protesters in Lekki that victims of Police brutality will be compensated.

Sanwo-Olu requested that leaders of the protests send a list of state residents who have fallen victim to one form of Police brutality or the others.
