Apple Becomes Second Company In History To Reach $5 Trillion Market Value

Apple has surpassed $5 trillion valuation as strong iPhone sales offset investor concerns over its delayed artificial intelligence strategy.

Apple has become the second publicly traded company in history to reach a market valuation of $5 trillion on Tuesday, driven by robust iPhone sales despite lingering concerns over its artificial intelligence strategy.

The milestone comes less than a year after the iPhone maker crossed the $4 trillion mark in October 2025. Apple shares have risen about 24% this year and nearly 60% over the past 12 months.

Investors had criticised the California-based technology giant for lagging behind rivals in the AI race after delaying key features of its Apple Intelligence platform, including an upgraded version of Siri.

The delays triggered changes within the company’s leadership, while Apple later struck a deal to integrate Google’s Gemini AI models into Siri.

The company is now expected to roll out the revamped voice assistant in beta later this year alongside its first foldable iPhone and the iPhone 18 lineup.

Although Apple has not matched the explosive AI-driven gains recorded by some of its biggest rivals since OpenAI launched ChatGPT in 2022, it has also avoided some of the sharp market declines experienced by AI-focused technology firms.

Apple is also facing growing pressure from a global shortage of memory and storage chips linked to rising AI demand, forcing it to increase prices for some Mac and iPad models. The company has yet to raise iPhone prices, though analysts say that could change with its next generation of devices.
