World Champion Tobi Amusan Defends 100m hurdles gold at Commonwealth Games

The reigning world champion and record holder successfully defended her Games title at the Alexander stadium on Sunday morning.

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has won the gold in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Birmingham.

The 25-year-old clocked 12.30 seconds to set a new games record.

This is coming two weeks after she became the first Nigerian athlete to win a World Athletics Championship gold as she stormed to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles in Oregon.

Amusan obliterated the world record in an astonishing semi-final where she clocked 12.12sec, before winning the final in a wind-assisted 12.06sec.
