Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu Mourn APC National Secretary Basiru’s Mother

Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu console APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru, praising his late mother’s enduring legacy of faith and integrity.

President Bola Tinubu and the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, have commiserated with the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, on the demise of his mother, Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru, on Sunday.

The President, in a statement by his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, commended the late matriarch’s sense of discipline and responsibility, instilling in her children the values of integrity, faith, selfless service, and discipline.

Tinubu noted that Senator Basiru’s contributions to national development and the growth of the APC reflected the quality of his upbringing.

According to the president, “The loss of a loving mother is a profound moment of grief. While death is an inevitable part of life, the pain of losing a parent is deeply felt and leaves an enduring void.

“I pray that Almighty Allah will grant the departed matriarch Aljanah Firdaus and comfort Senator Basiru, other members of the family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult period.

“I urge all Mama’s survivors to find solace in the exemplary life she lived and the enduring legacy that she has left behind.”

On his part, Sanwo-Olu, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, urged the bereaved family, friends and associates to accept the loss as the will of Allah.

The governor described the late Alhaja Basiru as a woman, who lived a fulfilled life, raised worthy children, and made lasting impact in her community.

“No doubt the death of a loved one is painful and irreparable, but we must take solace in God when the deceased has lived a good life.

“The elderly wisdom and counsel of Mama Basiru will be sorely missed, not only by her family but by her community, friends and all who knew her.

“I pray that Allah grants Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru Aljanah Firdaus, and gives Senator Ajibola Basiru and the entire family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.

“On behalf of my wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, our family, the Lagos State Government, and all APC leaders and members in Lagos, I sympathise with Senator Ajibola Basiru, his siblings, and the entire Basiru family on the demise of Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru,” Sanwo-Olu said.
