Ghana’s President-Elect, John Mahama, has paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu in Abuja following his victory in Ghana’s December 7, 2024 general elections.
The visit, which took place at the official residence of the President at the State House, was made public on Tuesday by presidential aide, Dada Olusegun, in a post on his verified X handle.
However, details of their discussions were not revealed.
Mahama’s visit was coming few days after President Tinubu, in a telephone call, congratulated Mahama on his election, expressing hope that his second term would foster greater stability in the West African region.
Tinubu, who is the Chairman of ECOWAS, commended Ghanaians for their commitment to democracy, calling it a model for political stability and transparent governance in Africa.
He reaffirmed the region’s belief in the right of people to freely choose their leaders.
