Former Big Brother Naija housemate Segun Olusemo, popularly known as Sheggz, has threatened legal action against his ex-girlfriend, Chiddima Esther Okagbue, better known as Bella, over alleged defamatory claims following their breakup.
Sheggz, through his legal representatives, issued a letter dated August 21, 2026, demanding that Bella retract and apologise for statements he alleged were defamatory.
The letter accused Bella of making claims that Sheggz was abusive towards her, owed her ₦11 million and made disparaging remarks about her and his family.
His lawyers also accused Bella of cyberbullying and allegedly threatening to use social media to cause him mental distress and damage his reputation among his peers, business associates and the public.
The lawyers demanded that Bella immediately stop making the alleged defamatory statements, delete the disputed content from all social media platforms and issue a public retraction and apology.
The legal threat is the latest development in the increasingly public fallout between the former couple, whose relationship has attracted significant attention since they met as housemates on the reality television show.
The dispute intensified after details of their separation emerged online, with allegations involving domestic violence, unpaid debts and emotional manipulation circulating on social media.
Screenshots purportedly showing conversations in which Sheggz asked Bella to lend him money also surfaced online, further fuelling the controversy.
Bella had earlier addressed the breakup, saying her desire to marry Sheggz was motivated by genuine love rather than desperation. She said she eventually walked away after giving the relationship several chances.
Sheggz, meanwhile, disclosed that their relationship ended in January 2026 after a difficult period, saying he had remained committed because he believed they had a future together.
He also revealed that he had bought an engagement ring and planned to propose to Bella before their relationship ended.
