Shakira has spoken about her collaboration with Nigerian singer Burna Boy on a song linked to the FIFA World Cup music project.
The track, Dai Dai, is part of the official World Cup album. It focuses on resilience and support for children.
Shakira said she had wanted to work with Burna Boy for some time. She said the collaboration came together easily and shaped the direction of the song.
She said Burna Boy’s contribution added more depth to the project and changed how the song sounded.
“I always wanted to do something with Burna. I think his voice takes it to another level,” she said.
Shakira said the song carries a message for children who face limits on their dreams. She said it also highlights the need for better access to education.
She added that the World Cup project should draw attention to young people and give them more visibility.
She said the song is aimed at encouraging hope and support for children around the world.
