The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Osun State, Munirudeen Oyebamiji, has questioned how the state government has utilised N650 billion he says it collected in three and a half years.
Oyebamiji raised the issue during the ARISE 2026 Governorship Election Town Hall, while comparing the current administration’s revenue with that of previous governments in the state.
He said Osun received significantly more revenue under the present administration than during the 12 years of the previous APC administrations.
“For these three and a half years of this government, they have collected, the government collected 650 billion Naira. How can you match 650 billion Naira to what is happening in Osun today?”
Oyebamiji said the figures raised questions about the state’s level of development under the current government.
“It is just quite unfortunate that we have this set of people that are governing Osun.”
He further criticised what he described as the administration’s handling of the state’s resources.
“This is an aberration.”
Oyebamiji contrasted the current administration’s revenue with the funds received by the state during the eight years of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola and the four years of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
“Let me remind you that for the eight years and four years of APC government in Osun, that’s 12 years, Governor Rauf’s administration had eight years and Governor Oyetola government, the revenue that was allocated to Osun, that came into Osun at that particular time was only 450 billion.”
He also said the previous administration did not borrow during its tenure and left N15 billion when it left office.
“During the regime that government did not borrow a single kobo from anywhere. We left 15 billion Naira at that particular time when we were leaving.”
