OPEC Eyes Namibia For Potential Partnership In Oil Sector

OPEC’s Secretary General has expressed optimism for a future partnership with Namibia in the oil sector.

The Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Haitham Al Ghais, expressed enthusiasm about a prospective collaboration with Namibia and affirmed OPEC’s readiness to assist the southern African nation in its oil endeavours.

Al Ghais made these remarks on Wednesday during a pre-recorded message at an international energy conference held in Namibia. He highlighted the significance of Namibian oil and energy resources in meeting future demand and encouraged potential investors to explore the numerous opportunities available in the country.

OPEC, which has seen the departure of Angola and other members in recent years, is considering Namibia for potential membership, recognizing its potential to become Africa’s fourth-largest oil producer by the next decade.
