Obidient Movement Appoints Moses Paul National Coordinator Ahead Of 2027 Elections

Obidient Movement appoints Dr Moses Paul as National Coordinator, pledging grassroots mobilisation and a disciplined structure ahead of 2027 polls.

The new National Coorodinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr Moses Paul on Friday assumed office with a promise to build a functional, disciplined and inclusive structure across every state, local government, ward, community and polling unit in preparation for the 2027 election.

He also demanded investigation into the allegation that a polling unit associated with Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has risen from 397 registered voters in 2024 to 4,783 in 2026.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, Paul said the 2027 election must reflect the genuine choices of Nigerians, and not manipulated records or electoral impunity.

“How much longer must Nigerians endure hunger, unemployment, poverty, collapsing businesses and bad governance while corruption, waste and impunity thrive?

“Nigeria does not belong to politicians. It belongs to all of us, particularly the young generation whose future must not be sacrificed to the interests of a political elite.

“Our frustration is justified, but anger without organisation achieves little. We must move beyond hashtags and complaints to organised, peaceful and determined democratic action. We must become informed, active citizens who demand accountability and defend democracy.

“The Obidient Movement represents the aspirations of millions who believe that competence, character, compassion and accountability must define leadership. Mr Peter Obi has inspired Nigerians to believe that a different country is possible, but rebuilding Nigeria requires organised citizens, not one individual.

“My priority is to build a functional, disciplined and inclusive structure across every state, LGA, ward, community and polling unit.

“We will build functional structures with clear responsibilities and measurable results. We will overcome internal divisions and put the mission above personal interests. We will give youths, women, professionals, workers and ordinary Nigerians a meaningful voice.
We will establish coordinated, professional and truthful communication to counter misinformation.

“We will turn supporters into active citizens through civic education, voter participation and grassroots engagement.

“Reports of suspected AI-generated photographs in INEC’s preliminary voter register and alleged irregularities in voter and polling-unit figures demand urgent investigation.

“One reported case alleges that a polling unit associated with Governor Monday Okpebholo increased from 397 registered voters in 2024 to 4,783 in 2026. If these records are verified as comparable for the same polling unit, this discrepancy demands a transparent explanation.

“INEC must provide answers and submit the register to an independent forensic audit. These allegations must not be treated as proof of electoral fraud, but neither should they be dismissed without investigation.

“We must prepare in advance with voter education, trained polling-unit volunteers, election monitoring, proper documentation, and lawful defence of the people’s votes.

“The 2027 election must reflect the genuine choices of Nigerians, not manipulated records or electoral impunity.

“I recognise and appreciate Dr Yunusa Tanko for his dedication and contributions to the Movement. I am not coming to replace anyone but to work with everyone. No individual owns this Movement, and nobody should be bigger than its purpose. Leadership must be measured by service, commitment and results. Every coordinator, volunteer and supporter has a role to play in this national assignment.

“If not us, who? If not now, when?
Reject the normalisation of poverty, ethnic and religious divisions, political manipulation and the sale of your conscience. Your PVC, your voice and your participation matter.

“I invite Nigerians, particularly young people, across all ethnic, religious and geographical boundaries to join us in building a disciplined, inclusive and accountable Movement.

“I commit to leadership through service, unity, transparency and measurable results. We are not here to inherit Nigeria’s problems or surrender our children’s future. We are here to confront the challenges and build a country that works for everyone.
