Nigeria’s VP Shettima Visits Victims of Kaduna Military Drone Strike

The airstrike accidentally killed scores of civilians gathered for a religious celebration.

Nigeria’s Vice President Kassim Shettima has arrived at the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna to sympathize with hospitalised victims affected by the accidental military drone strike.

About 81 people with varying degrees of injuries were admitted to the medical facility, however some have been transferred to other facilities.

Over the weekend, a military drone strike killed more than 80 civilians gathered for a religious celebration, the latest in a series of errant strikes as the country fights armed groups in northern Nigeria.

The vice president is accompanied by the minister of defence, Abubakar Badaru, the speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbass, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Nuhu Bamalli and other top government officials.
