Nigeria’s  Election Court Says Failure To Electronically Transmit Results Not Sufficient Ground To Challenge Outcome

It said transmission was merely mentioned in the electoral guidelines and manual of INEC.

Nigeria’s Presidential Election Petition Court says since electronic transmission was not provided for in the electoral act, it is not sufficient ground to challenge the outcome of the presidential election.

The PEPC, in the ongoing court session, also said the Labour Party failed to prove that Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, deliberately failed to upload the polling unit results to the IREV portal in order to manipulate the presidential election result in favour of Bola Tinubu.

The court further noted that the electronic transmission of results wasn’t expressly stated in the electoral act, noting it was merely mentioned in the electoral guidelines and manual of INEC.
