Britain’s monarch King Charles III has described the historic relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States as “irreplaceable and unbreakable,” emphasising the enduring bond between the two nations.
Addressing members of United States Congress, the King said the ties between both countries span more than four centuries, rooted in shared values of democracy, rights, and freedoms.
“The relationship between our two nations stands over four centuries,” he said, noting that his visit was undertaken with “the highest respect” for Congress, which he described as “a citadel of democracy created to represent the voice of all the American people and advance sacred rights and freedoms.”
King Charles III added that he was in the United States to convey the goodwill of the British people, stating: “I am here to express the highest regard and friendship of the British people to the people of the United States.”
