Big Brother Naija housemate Victor Ikpe, popularly known as Keivo, has reflected on his exit from the reality show, taking responsibility for his actions several days after his disqualification.
Keivo was disqualified from the ongoing “Show Ya Sef” season on Tuesday, September 29, following a physical altercation with fellow housemate Tram. In a statement shared few days after his exit, he acknowledged that his emotions influenced his actions and said he intends to learn from the experience.
“I’ve had some time to reflect on everything that happened and I take full responsibility for my actions. My emotions took the best of me. Regardless of how strongly I felt, physical confrontation is never a solution to any situation. And I take full responsibility for my actions,” he said.
The former housemate also said he wants to become better and make his supporters proud as he moves on from his time in the competition.
“I will learn, become better, and do my very best to make you proud of Keivo the Challenger, the Competitor, the man of many talents, the son of Grace, the VICTOR,” he said.
Keivo thanked Big Brother and MultiChoice for giving him the opportunity to participate in the reality show, saying he valued the experience of sharing his story and connecting with people.
“Being in the house, sharing my story, connecting with amazing people and showing myself, I will never take that for granted,” he said.
He also appreciated his family, friends and supporters who prayed, voted and stood by him throughout his journey, including those who had hoped to see him become a finalist.
Keivo said he came into the house hoping Nigerians would get to know him and appreciated both the support he received and the accountability that followed his actions.
“I came into Big Brother’s house hoping Nigerians would see who I am. I leave knowing that millions of people did. Thank you for loving me at my best, and thank you for holding me accountable for my actions,” he said.
The reality star also turned to his faith, asking God for mercy, wisdom, grace and strength as he begins what he described as a new chapter.
“I trust that he has a purpose for every chapter, including this one. I will continue to trust him,” he said.
Keivo’s disqualification followed a disagreement with Tram over a black shirt which later became physical, bringing his participation in the “Show Ya Sef” season to an end ahead of the October 4 finale.
He ended his message by expressing appreciation to the Big Brother community and wishing Nigerians a happy Independence Day.
