Big Brother Naija housemate Victor Ikpe, popularly known as Keivo, has been disqualified from the ongoing “Show Ya Sef” season following a physical altercation with fellow housemate Tram.
The development was confirmed on Tuesday, September 29, hours after Keivo’s name disappeared from the official voting poll, prompting speculation among viewers about his status in the competition. Big Brother later addressed the housemates and showed footage of the incident before announcing Keivo’s disqualification.
The altercation occurred on Monday night after Tram confronted Keivo over a black shirt he believed belonged to him. Tram had been searching for the shirt and checked its label after seeing Keivo wearing it, but Keivo disputed his claim.
The disagreement later escalated, with Keivo physically attacking Tram while Tram did not retaliate. Other housemates attempted to separate the pair. The confrontation continued until Big Brother intervened and ordered the housemates to freeze. After the situation was brought under control, Ninjas later escorted Keivo out of the house through the storeroom.
The incident had become the focus of attention by Tuesday morning when viewers noticed that Keivo was no longer listed among the housemates eligible for votes. At the time, Big Brother had not announced the reason for his removal from the voting platform, leaving viewers to speculate about whether it was connected to the previous night’s altercation.
The uncertainty continued into Tuesday as the organisers announced that Big Brother would address the housemates. The announcement further heightened interest in Keivo’s status before the official decision was communicated.
During the evening address, Big Brother described the incident as one that had escalated from a disagreement into physical violence and said it constituted a serious breach of the rules governing the housemates’ conduct and safety.
“Given the nature of that violent act, Keivo, as the perpetrator, was removed from the house and is therefore disqualified from the Big Brother house,” Big Brother said.
Big Brother also told the housemates that they were expected to exercise restraint during moments of anger, frustration or disagreement.
“Big Brother has shown considerable leniency throughout this season, trusting that each of you understands your boundaries and is capable of exercising restraint, even in moments of anger, frustration or disagreement,” he said.
He added that disagreements were expected in the house but said the housemates would be held responsible for how they responded to them.
“As Big Brother has stated multiple times this season, misunderstandings will happen, disagreements will arise, tempers may flare, but how you choose to respond in those moments is what truly matters,” he said.
Keivo’s disqualification ends his participation in the “Show Ya Sef” season, days before the scheduled October 4 finale.
