The Kano State Hisbah Board on Wednesday allegedly disclosed plans to invite parents of Shatu Garko – who recently emerged as Miss Nigeria – for questioning.

The Hisbah board says they will invite her parents to talk to them about the actions of their daughter noting that entering a completion such as the Miss Nigeria pageant was forbidden according to Islamic law.

The Hisbah Commander – General, Sheikh Harun Ibn-Sina, allegedly said that he will inform her parents that she cannot continue on her chosen path to become a model and is doing so, in order to discourage other Muslim girls from following her footsteps.

Meanwhile a trending video where a man was seen offering a group of police officers money, after he was allegedly made to withdraw the funds from an ATM, has attracted the attention of the Commissioner of Police of the federal capital territory Abuja.

Finally, the Abia State government on Wednesday announced that It would prosecute masquerades caught harassing residents in the state.

In a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government, adequate measures are being put in place to ensure that lives and property of Abians are secured during the Yuletide Period.

The statement further urged residents to report any masquerade seen to be blocking roads and extorting motorists and individuals to security agencies, as they will face the full wrath of the law.
