Aikou and Flora have been released from their Gambit roles and reinstated as full Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemates, putting them in the race for the ₦160 million grand prize.
The development follows the “Operation Release the Gambit” twist introduced during Sunday’s live show, which gave viewers the power to decide whether one or both Gambits would be released into the main competition. With the decision now made, both housemates can compete for the prize and face eviction if nominated.
Aikou and Flora were introduced as the first Gambits of the season after viewers voted them into the special positions. Their roles guaranteed them places in the house until the finale but initially made them ineligible to compete for the ₦160 million prize.
Flora secured the female Gambit position with 29.38 per cent of the votes, while Aikou became the male Gambit after receiving 9.10 per cent.
During the live show, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced the twist, saying, “Big Brother has one more twist for you tonight. Operation Release the Gambit begins immediately after the live show. The polls will open, and you will decide whether to release one or both of the Gambits, giving them the opportunity to play for the prize. The power is in your hands.”
Following their release, Biggie reinstated Aikou and Flora as full housemates, making them subject to the same nomination and eviction process as the other contestants.
Their fate in the competition will now depend on nominations and votes from the public as they continue their bid for the ₦160 million grand prize.
