Australian model and swimwear designer Sahara Ray has died at the age of 34.
Ray’s family confirmed her death to TMZ, saying she passed away at a hospital surrounded by loved ones.
“She passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital. She was so loved,” the family told the publication.
Her cause of death has not been confirmed.
Ray rose to prominence through modelling and social media, building a large following on Instagram before launching her swimwear brand, Sahara Ray Swim.
She made headlines in 2016 after being photographed on holiday in Hawaii with Canadian singer Justin Bieber, sparking reports of a possible relationship. She was also previously romantically linked to Australian singer Cody Simpson.
Ray was the daughter of Australian surfing legend Tony Ray. She spent much of her childhood travelling between Australia, California and Hawaii.
In 2024, she spoke publicly about her battle with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that left her partially paralysed following a serious car accident.
