Air Peace has taken delivery of its first brand-new Embraer E175 aircraft, marking another milestone in the airline’s fleet renewal programme as it continues to strengthen domestic and regional air connectivity across West and Central Africa.
The delivery, announced on Tuesday by Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer, further expands the airline’s Embraer fleet, which already includes the E195-E2, E190-E1 and ERJ145 regional jets.
According to the airline, the addition of the E175 will provide greater operational flexibility by enabling Air Peace to deploy aircraft better suited to passenger demand on domestic and regional routes.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Dr. Allen Onyema, described the arrival of the aircraft as a significant step in the airline’s growth strategy.
He said the E175 would enhance operational flexibility, expand market reach and support the airline’s commitment to providing safe, reliable and efficient air transport services across Nigeria and neighbouring countries.
The aircraft delivery follows Air Peace’s September 2023 order for five factory-new Embraer E175 aircraft valued at approximately $288 million.
The E175 shares cockpit commonality with the airline’s E195-E2 fleet, a feature expected to reduce pilot training requirements, lower operational costs and simplify fleet management.
The latest acquisition continues Air Peace’s investment in modern aircraft over the past several years. In 2021, the airline became Africa’s launch customer for the Embraer E195-E2 after taking delivery of the continent’s first aircraft of the type.
In 2025, the carrier further expanded its Embraer fleet with the acquisition of additional Embraer 190 aircraft to strengthen its regional operations.
The delivery comes as Air Peace continues to expand its route network across West and Central Africa while pursuing additional international destinations.
The airline said the E175 will support its “No City Left Behind” initiative by improving connectivity between smaller Nigerian cities and neighbouring countries.
Air Peace added that the arrival of another factory-new aircraft underscores its commitment to fleet modernisation and positions the airline to support sustained growth while strengthening its position as one of Africa’s leading carriers.
