Nigerian singer Victony has released a remix of his hit song ‘Slick’, featuring American singer Summer Walker and rapper-singer Don Toliver in a collaboration that blends Afrobeats with contemporary R&B.
The remix brings together three artists from different musical backgrounds, exploring attraction, intimacy and confidence through Victony’s Nigerian sound, Walker’s smooth vocals and Toliver’s melodic delivery.
Victony maintains the original track’s playful energy, while Walker adds her distinctive R&B style and Toliver complements the record with his melodic approach.
The lyrics centre on desire, physical chemistry and mutual attraction, retaining the flirtatious mood of the original song while introducing the two American artists to the record.
The collaboration brings Nigerian Afrobeats into conversation with contemporary American R&B and hip-hop influences, broadening the sound of ‘Slick’ through the contributions of Walker and Toliver.
