UK Regulator Proposes £240 Million Reduction In Water Bills

Thames Water and Yorkshire Water face the largest proposed penalties for failing to meet performance targets.

Britain’s water regulator, Ofwat, has proposed reducing customers’ water bills by £240 million ($318.5 million) following underperformance by water companies.

The proposed reductions would see Thames Water and Yorkshire Water face the largest penalties for failing to meet established performance targets.

The proposal was announced on Wednesday, with the regulator’s plan expected to reduce the amount customers pay for water services.
