Troops of the 17 Brigade under Operation Fansan Yamma, Sector 2, have repelled multiple terrorist attacks in Katsina State, killing one terrorist and rescuing the abducted Village Head of Farin Hawa community during separate operations.
According to the Nigerian Army, troops successfully foiled an attempted attack by terrorists between Amara and Chakau Junction in Danmusa Local Government Area, forcing the assailants to abandon their mission and flee.
In a statement, the military said the troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, compelling them to retreat under sustained military fire.
The operation led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, one magazine loaded with eight rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and two motorcycles believed to have been used by the fleeing terrorists.

In a separate operation, troops rescued the abducted Village Head of Farin Hawa community in Malumfashi Local Government Area, Mubarak Sharin, after engaging the kidnappers.
The Army said one terrorist was neutralised during the rescue operation, while the traditional ruler was freed unharmed and reunited with his family.
The military said the successful operations underscore its continued commitment to combating terrorism and restoring security across Katsina State under Operation Fansan Yamma.
