Todd Boehly has stepped down as chairman of Chelsea Football Club, bringing his tenure in the role to an end.
Boehly confirmed his departure in a statement in which he thanked the Premier League, Chelsea’s coaches and players, club staff and supporters for their contribution during his time at the club.
“It has been an honour to serve as Chairman of Chelsea Football Club,” Boehly said.
He also expressed his appreciation for his relationship with Clearlake Capital and the wider ownership group, which has overseen the club since the change in ownership.
Boehly said the group had made collective decisions and investments aimed at supporting Chelsea’s short-term and long-term development.
“I have valued my partnership with Clearlake and the wider ownership group, and the collective decisions and investment we have made to support the immediate and long-term success of the Club,” he said.
He backed Clearlake to continue leading the club and said Chelsea was positioned for further success.
“I am confident that Chelsea is well positioned for continued success under Clearlake’s leadership,” Boehly added.
Boehly became part of the consortium that completed the takeover of Chelsea from Roman Abramovich in 2022 and subsequently served as the club’s chairman.
