Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election Bid Gains Ground As TSG Establishes 5,422 Polling Unit Structures In Jigawa

Tinubu’s re-election campaign gains grassroots backing as TSG establishes mobilisation structures across 5,422 polling units and 287 wards in Jigawa.

The Tinubu Support Group (TSG) has unveiled an extensive grassroots mobilisation network across Jigawa State, establishing structures in 287 political wards and 5,422 polling units as part of efforts to secure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

The group announced this during the commissioning of its state headquarters in Dutse and the inauguration of Local Government Coordinators by its Deputy Director, North, Hon. Magaji Da’u Aliyu.

Thousands of TSG members and All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders from the state’s 27 local government areas converged on Dutse for the ceremony, which attracted party leaders, serving and former public office holders and business personalities.

The newly commissioned headquarters, equipped with modern office furniture, information and communication technology facilities and other operational equipment, is expected to serve as the group’s central coordination centre for political mobilisation across the state.

Speaking at the event, Aliyu, who is also the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO), Abuja, and a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, expressed satisfaction with the large turnout of supporters and stakeholders.

He described the gathering as evidence of growing political commitment and the organisational strength of the group in Jigawa, urging members to sustain the momentum and deepen their presence at the grassroots.

Aliyu disclosed that TSG had established leadership structures across the state’s three senatorial districts, 11 federal constituencies, 31 state Assembly constituencies, 287 political wards and 5,422 polling units.

He explained that the structures were designed to strengthen grassroots engagement, coordinate supporters and establish effective communication between the state leadership and the group’s regional and national headquarters.

The former two-term member of the House of Representatives also revealed that the group’s state and senatorial district leadership structures had been reconstituted to improve coordination, monitor activities and ensure regular feedback on achievements and challenges.

He charged the newly inaugurated coordinators to take ownership of the mobilisation drive by expanding the group’s influence in their respective communities and intensifying grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.

On the political outlook, Aliyu declared that the North was prepared to support President Tinubu’s re-election, arguing that the President’s emergence after former President Muhammadu Buhari reflected an alleged political understanding between the North and the South-West.

He called on political stakeholders to remain united and committed to the President’s second-term ambition, expressing confidence in the group’s capacity to sustain its mobilisation efforts.

Representatives from the 27 local government areas also pledged to strengthen the group’s structures, expand its activities and mobilise additional supporters for Tinubu’s re-election.

The commissioning of the headquarters and inauguration of coordinators mark a significant expansion of TSG’s political mobilisation network in Jigawa, positioning the group to intensify its campaign activities across the state’s 27 local government areas ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
