President Bola Tinubu, accompanied by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has arrived in London, United Kingdom, ahead of a two-day historic state visit.

According to a statement by presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s aircraft touched down at London Stansted Airport at 3:18 pm on Tuesday.

Tinubu was received on behalf of the Royal Family by Mark Bevan, Deputy Lieutenant of Essex, alongside Nigeria’s acting High Commissioner to the UK, Ambassador Mohammed Maidugu, and other senior officials.

Also present to welcome the President were several Nigerian political figures, including senators, governors, and ministers.

During the visit, President Tinubu and the First Lady will be hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle from March 18 to March 19.

The state visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, as well as exploring new opportunities for trade and investment between both countries.

Officials say the visit will also provide a platform for deeper diplomatic engagement and collaboration across key sectors of mutual interest.
