An explosion in the Ikeja area of Nigeria’s southwestern Lagos state has killed three persons and injured thirteen others.

It’s reported that the explosion which occurred on Thursday night was caused by a leakage while a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanker was in motion.

The impact of the blast was felt inside buildings in the government residential area (GRA) axis of the state, while the explosion is said to have occurred around the Sheraton Hotel area, located on the Mobolaji Bank Anthony way in Ikeja.

Ibrahim Farinloye, acting coordinator, south-west zonal office, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), told NAN that 25 cars were also destroyed.
