Shettima To Commission Key Projects During Ekiti Working Visit

Vice President Kashim Shettima visits Ekiti on Tuesday to inaugurate projects and perform strategic ground-breaking ceremonies.

Vice President Kashim Shettima will visit Ekiti State on Tuesday for a one-day working visit during which he is expected to inaugurate major infrastructure projects and perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone.

Shettima, who will represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is scheduled to arrive at the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport, where Governor Biodun Oyebanji and senior state officials will receive him.

During the visit, the Vice President will perform the groundbreaking for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone (EKZ), a project aimed at driving innovation, technology and economic development in the state.

He will also commission the newly completed zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) located along Old Iyin Road in Ado-Ekiti.

Another highlight of the visit will be the inauguration of the 1.2-kilometre Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover at Okeyinmi in Ado-Ekiti, one of the flagship infrastructure projects of the Oyebanji administration.

The visit marks Shettima’s second official trip to Ekiti State since assuming office. In May 2024, he inaugurated the Omisanjana–Deeper Life–Ajebandele Road and an MSME clinic, among other projects.

Governor Oyebanji said arrangements had been concluded to ensure a successful visit, reiterating his administration’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with the federal government, development institutions and the private sector to accelerate development in the state.
