Saudi Aramco Tower Damaged In Houthi’s Attack On Riyadh

Saudi Arabia says falling shrapnel damages a Saudi Aramco building in Riyadh after air defences intercept a projectile.

A building belonging to Saudi state-owned oil giant Saudi Aramco in Riyadh has been damaged by falling shrapnel after air defence systems intercepted an incoming projectile, according to Saudi Arabia’s Energy Ministry.

The incident comes as fighting involving Yemen’s Houthi rebels intensifies, raising security concerns across the region.

Saudi Arabia’s Energy Ministry confirmed that the projectile was intercepted by air defences before falling shrapnel struck the Saudi Aramco building in the capital.

The ministry did not immediately provide further details about the extent of the damage or whether there were casualties.

The development comes as the United States announces plans to block Iran’s land-based supply routes, expanding its months-long naval blockade of Iranian ports in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

The new US military plan is expected to extend restrictions beyond maritime routes as Washington seeks to disrupt Iran’s supply networks.

Meanwhile, Iranian media have reported explosions on Qeshm Island and in the cities of Jask, Sirik and Bandar Abbas.

The cause of the reported explosions remains unclear, with no immediate official explanation provided.

In Yemen, an air strike near the capital, Sanaa, has killed 33 people, according to the Iran-backed Houthi rebel group.

The Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis has yet to comment on the reported casualties.

The latest developments come as military confrontations and security threats continue to affect several locations across the Middle East, with growing concerns over the potential impact on regional stability and critical energy infrastructure.
