Radisson Hotel Group has surpassed 100 hotels in Africa, including properties in operation and under development, as it accelerates its 2030 growth ambition across the continent.
The group said it signed more than 15 new hotels and roughly 2,500 rooms in the last 12 months, marking a record year for its African expansion drive. The new deals include market entries into the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe, while priority growth markets remain Morocco, South Africa and Nigeria.
Radisson said the milestone reflects sustained momentum for its brands across the continent, with Radisson Blu continuing to anchor its legacy footprint, while the Radisson brand has emerged as its fastest-growing flag, driven by conversions and a strong project pipeline.
Regional Chief Development Officer, Ramsay Rankoussi, said the group’s next phase in Africa would focus on deeper expansion in Morocco and Nigeria, a smarter footprint in South Africa, and stronger resort offerings in destinations with rising traveller demand.
He said the pipeline is designed not just for announcement, but for delivery, noting that the group’s conversion strategy has shortened time to market and strengthened its presence in major cities and leisure locations.
In Nigeria, the group said it now has 13 hotels in operation and pipeline, with Abuja accounting for a significant portion of current activity through three hotels totalling 458 keys. New planned projects in the country include Radisson Hotel Aba, Radisson Hotel & Conference Center Yenagoa, and Radisson Collection Hotel, Lagos Atlantic.
Recent signings across Africa also include Radisson Blu Hotel, Kinshasa; Radisson Hotel Lubumbashi; Radisson Blu Apartments Lubumbashi; Radisson Airport Hotel Lubumbashi; Radisson Resort Ain Sokhna Groove in Egypt; Radisson Serviced Apartments COY Sheikh Zayed City; new properties in Casablanca, Rabat and Marrakech in Morocco; Radisson Serviced Apartments Umhlanga in South Africa; and two new projects in Zimbabwe, including Park Inn by Radisson Victoria Falls Resort.
The group said its expansion strategy combines city hotels, resort destinations and conversion opportunities, helping it maintain one of the most diverse footprints in Africa with presence in more than 30 countries.
Radisson added that the latest growth reflects its commitment to strengthening partnerships, supporting tourism development and widening hospitality options across the continent.
