Social media users reacted with outrage after Presidential Adviser Bayo Onanuga called for vandals to be “shot at sight” in response to viral footage showing damage to reconstruction work on the Ibadan–Ilesa federal highway.

The post sparked a public spat between Bayo Onanuga and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s aide, Phrank Shaibu, who condemned the remark, saying a government spokesman cannot call for citizens to be shot.
