Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has penned a heartfelt poem to celebrate his wife, Prof. Olayemi Oyebanji, as she marks her birthday.
The Governor used the occasion to express his appreciation for her love, kindness, inner strength and unwavering faith in God, describing her as a shining light in his life.
Prof. Oyebanji, who was elevated to the rank of Professor by the Governing Council of the University of Ibadan (UI) last month, is a year older today.
In a birthday message shared on his verified social media handles, the Governor celebrated his wife for the support she has given him and the many little things she does, both seen and unseen.
He also expressed admiration for her character and the positive influence she continues to have on his life.
“I admire the strength that lives within you, the kindness that resides in your heart and your unwavering faith that makes my spirit whole.
“Thank you, Olayemi, for being who you are and for shining in my life like the brightest star that you are. For every little thing you do, seen and unseen; for the beautiful person you have always been, I say thank you.”, the Governor writes.
In the poem titled Straight From My Heart On Your Special Day, Oyebanji offered prayers for his wife’s continued happiness, success and fulfilment, while expressing his desire to keep making her smile in the years ahead.

STRAIGHT FROM MY HEART ON YOUR SPECIAL DAY
My love, Olayemi, today is all about you, a special day for the most special soul- so beautiful and true.
Today, the sun seems brighter in the sky, And I find a thousand reasons to celebrate you and celebrate with you.
I admire the strength that lives within you,
The kindness that resides in your heart,
And your unwavering faith makes my spirit whole.
Thank you for being who you are, and for shining in my life like the brightest star that you are.
For every little thing you do, seen and unseen,
For the beautiful person you have always been, I say thank you.
On this special day, I pray that God will bless you anew,
Open greater doors and make your dreams come true.
May grace surround you wherever you go,
May your joy overflow and your greatness grow.
May the years ahead bring more beautiful memories
May your heart find peace in all that life brings.
