The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Prince Sunday Udofia as Team Coordinator of the U23 men’s national football team, the Olympic Eagles, ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The federation also named Niyi Busari, an experienced journalist and owner of the online publication BSN Sports, as the team’s Media Officer.
According to the NFF, Udofia previously served in a similar capacity with the Golden Eaglets, Nigeria’s U17 men’s national team, when they successfully defended their FIFA U17 World Cup title in Chile in 2015.
Both appointees are expected to join the squad as it resumes camp in Ijebu-Ode on Sunday, 25 October, ahead of the two-legged U23 AFCON qualifying tie.
Nigeria will face DR Congo in the first leg at the TP Mazembe Stadium in Lubumbashi on Friday, 13 November.
The return leg is scheduled to take place four days later at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, as the Olympic Eagles seek to advance in the qualifying campaign.
